Axel Claes creates books. In the exhibition space, a tension arises between these books and their 'pictures on the wall'. Words are used sparingly, if at all. It is as if the relationship of trust between text and image never existed, or has been deliberately interrupted. Drawings and collages become accessible in a different way and become sequences. Video, film and performance are part of the installation.
