VERNISSAGE LE 08/11/2026 15h - 18h

OPENING 08/11/2026 3PM to 6PM

Jean-Marie Brecht was born in Belgium in 1963. He has been painting since the age of seven, first by copying the works of the great masters, before gradually developing his own vision: eerie and always with a touch of mischief. Visiting his home, you quickly realise that his love of collage extends far beyond his artwork; it is woven into everyaspect of his life. Fragments of stories are scattered everywhere: across furniture, inside drawers, even among the littlebells hanging from the curtains. He began pulling out the paintings he had made over the past few years, stacking them one on top of another until theyformed a tower so tall that we could no longer photograph the canvas at the very top. That pile of paintings on his living-room table was the very essence of a joyful mess; an assertion that there are no clearboundaries between the canvas and everything that surrounds it.
