ECHOING: WHAT IS INFRASTRUCTURAL CRITIQUE?
SUNDAY 30/11
11:00
End: Sunday 30/11 - 05:00

At: au JUS

In echo with the symposium What is infrastructural critique?  happening in Vienna on October 29-31, we will gather here at au JUS on October 30, expanding its space « in celebration of the life and work of Marina Vishmidt ».

We’ll spend the morning reading and discussing « Speculative Infrastructures », the unpublished first chapter of Infrastructural Critique, and the afternoon with Taylor Le Melle and Marwa Arsanios’, streaming live from Vienna.

« The conference What is Infrastructural Critique? will feature artists, critical theorists and collaborators with Marina, who will come together to think through Marina’s concept of infrastructural critique, a materialist approach to the infrastructures of contemporary art oriented towards aesthetics and political struggle in all of its interconnected modes and scales. »

Program at auJUS :

  • 11am - 1.30pm Collective reading & discussion : Infrastructural Critique: Contemporary Art Between Reproduction and Abolition, forthcoming with Verso in 2026. Chapter 1 : « Speculative Infrastructures »

  • 2:30pm - 4pm Live streaming panel discussion : Taylor Le Melle and Marwa Arsanios

You are warmly invited to join at any point throughout the day. Send us a message if you would like to participate in the reading group so we know how many copies of the text to print. We’ll have tea, coffee and snacks too.
