In 2022, a group of about twenty artists spent two weeks investigating the spaces of Fondations 312 and staging a performative exhibition. By committing themselves to create an opera that was as quiet as possible, the artists orchestrated whisperings: role-playing, installations, and grotesque figures. A program that escaped as much the definition of theatre as that of the exhibition, and a contradictory formula: the Discreet Opera.

L’Opéra Distrait is the second edition of L’Opéra Discret. Once more, around twenty artists will spend two weeks in residency at Brasseries Atlas working together around yet another contradiction. The artists will be invited to form a rhizome, resembling a collective of neurons with an attention deficit. They will turn distraction into a principle of composition, and dispersion into a form of resistance...
