The Finnish tune collectors’ collective JEHU presents a night of layered fabrics, fables and tunes to weave yourself into. Come dance with us!

• TUNNWLI tells fairytales with soundscapes and plays tracks to ward off evil spirits
• DJ Mix Muka plays ryijy-colored music
• Mieltä Hivelevä international surprise guest

Ryijy is a traditional Finnish wall tapestry. Its viking era origins were as a protective cloak and cover. As the functional cloth spread around the finnish mainland it gained strong ceremonial dimensions. Traditional ryijy patterns and colors are rooted in folk magic. Weavers relied on visual memory and local storytelling, leading to rich, regional variations.

A site-specific symbolic ryijy made out of found materials will be built in Becue to celebrate the vibrancy of the local culture and to serve as a ceremonial marker of an important life milestone: birthday. ;)
