IN "THE ADHD MUSES", BERNADETTE VAN-HUY — FOUNDING MEMBER OF THE ART COLLECTIVE BERNADETTE CORPORATION — EXAMINES THE BOUNDARIES BETWEEN FILMMAKING, OBSERVATION AND IMAGE PRODUCTION. ARTIST MARIKA THUNDER AND ACTRESS TESSA GOURIN FUNCTION AS BOTH PERSONA AND MATERIAL. IDENTITY IS CONSTRUCTED AND PERFORMED. MOVING BETWEEN DOCUMENTARY, PERFORMANCE AND IMPROVISATION, THE FILM RESISTS FIXED FORM. VAN-HUY USES ADHD AS A SELF-DESCRIBED “FAKE THEME” — A WAY OF SEEING WITHOUT FIXED ORDER, WHERE MEANING DOES NOT SETTLE — ENGAGING HER MUSES IN INTERVIEWS AND UNSCRIPTED ACTIVITIES IN WHAT SHE CALLS AN “ACTION DOCUMENTARY”. FRAGMENTS FROM "MEAN GIRLS" ARE REUSED AS MATERIAL. MONOLOGUES, STUDIO SESSIONS AND OBSERVATIONS CARRY EQUAL WEIGHT. THE VOICE-OVER DOES NOT CONCLUDE.
