At: Espace Vanhomwegen

Espace Vanhomwegen is pleased to welcome Manuel Sajn for a several-week work residency in March. At the conclusion of this residency, the artist will present the fruits of his research to the public during a several-day presentation titledΒ Face in Hole.

During his residency at Espace Vanhomwegen, the artist will develop the beginnings of his next short film, featuring characters with familiar yet strange faces. The scenic landscapes he weaves are deeply burlesque, oscillating between reality and imagination, both intimate yet artificial, vulnerable and constructed.

This research more broadly questions the construction of identities and their transmission, self-staging, and contemporary forms of projection. Through these archetypal male figures, the artist explores what images of virility, seduction, and fiction instill in us, and what begins to crack when they are reenacted differently.

On Saturday, March 28, Espace Vanhomwegen opens its doors from 2 PM onwards to discover Manuel Sajn's work from his residency. The evening will continue after the opening with a DJ set by Naomie Klaus, an artist with whom Manuel Sajn has already collaborated in the past.

Opening of the residency exhibitionΒ Face in Hole:
March 28, 2026 β€” from 2 PM to 9 PM
+ DJ set by Naomie Klaus starting at 9 PM

Residency exhibition (by appointment):
